It’s still hard to process the loss of one of EDM’s all-time greats. Tributes from all corners of the world have been pouring in making it easy to see how many people’s lives Avicii touched. We’ll miss you always Tim, now that we’re here without you.
Incredibly sad news today. Tim Bergling, known as Avicii was found dead in Muscat, Oman at only 28 years old. There has been no announcement of cause of death up to this point, but many assume that this will likely be in relation to the substance abuse problems and subsequent health issues that took him away from touring and producing a few years ago. The statement from his rep reads:
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their needfor privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
He passionately loved what he did; producing, performing, and brightening up others lives with his sounds. He will be forever missed. Rest in peace Tim.
Song of the Day: My Feeling (Deniz Koyu Remix) – Yenson
A little bit of a throwback Thursday track here in Deniz Koyu’s remix of Yenson’s “My Feeling”. Released Turkish/German producer in 2010, this is a feel-good track that will take you back to the early days of EDM and progressive house.
The 20-year-old from Amsterdam, Justin Mylo, recently released his newest track “Chasing Shadows” showcasing his progressive house talents. The pre-drop before the second build brings a strong drive to the track, complementing the main drops well. His radio shows are a pretty fantastic listen too and can be found on his SoundCloud page.
R3HAB is back with a new release “We Do”, a collaboration with Noah Neiman with an accompanying vocal performance from Miranda Glory. When R3HAB first emerged onto the scene years ago, he had a much harder style with buzzing, intense synths and big drops. However, over his last few releases, his style has softened a bit in a smooth, sophisticated way. You can still hear some of the elements that he’s known for and that’s what makes his take on the more and more popular future bass style so enticing. The music video for the track will immediately make you want to take a vacation so be sure to check it out.
