Over the past few years, Kaskade has branched out away from the progressive house and progressive trance styles that brought him to fame and into deeper house club sounds. Recently released “Hypnotized” is a perfect example of this. He’ll still create tracks that are along the lines of what you’d expect from him, but these club-tuned tracks are equally as fun. The lyrics and vocals themselves have a hypnotic feel to them which the bassline seals in. Take a listen and add “Hypnotized” to your club night playlist.

Song of the Day: Balearic Mornings – HI-LO & Reinier Zonneveld

HI-LO, Oliver Heldens’ bass house moniker, and Reinier Zonneveld teamed up for “Balearic Mornings” which Oliver had this to say about:

[It’s] called ‘Balearic Mornings’, cause the track reminded us both of early mornings in Ibiza after a long night of partying, when the sun rises again.

It’s less dark than you’d expect from us, we went pretty melodic this one. Still has such a captivating drive though, we’re both super happy [with] it!

As compared to his recent HI-LO releases, like “Check“, “Balearic Mornings” is certainly more melodic while still being a step away from his typical melodic house style when he releases tracks under his normal name.

Reinier Zonneveld is a new name to me. He’s a Dutch producer who mostly focuses on techno and looks to have a few solid remixes to his name.

Off of Illenium’s newest album Fallen Embers, “In My Mind” showcases a stellar collaboration between the emotional “sad boi” style Illenium is known for with Excision’s intense, heavy-hitting dubstep drops. HALIENE, excellent as always, adds her talents to yet another top EDM track. “In My Mind” is one of the heavier songs from the album which featured many previously released songs like “Paper Thin”, “Hearts On Fire”, “Nightlight”, “First Time”, “Sideways“, and “Heavenly Side”. Off their 2020 Church album, Galantis’s “Steel” is a heartfelt track that’s still upbeat, but more mellow and not quite as bouncy and bright as their traditional style.
