A few years ago Elephante would have been the one remixing Morgan Page. Now, with years of experience under his belt, Elephante is putting out originals that other top producers are taking note of and putting their own spin on.
Morgan Page keeps the main elements from Elephante’s original version of “Come Back For You” but adds in smooth synths in the chorus to put his characteristic sound on the remix. Truly great work from both of these producers.
When it’s Friday afternoon and you’re looking for something to listen to before you get ready to go out with friends, be sure to queue up this remix of APEK’s “Supernatural” by Au5. It’s a really fun dubstep track that doesn’t go too hard that lets the vocals take the lead. Simply put, this remix is a fun listen. We might have to include this on a future Ryse Radio episode.
Song of the Day: Going Under (Leon Lour Remix) – Borgeous
The London based producer Leon Lour takes an already great track from Borgeous in “Going Under” and adds some of his personal style to it. Playing off the soft vocals in the verse allows Leon Lour to create a more emphatic chorus by chopping the vocals and pushing the four on the floor rhythm. Take a listen and add it to your Spotify playlist today!
Ellie Goulding’s cover of The Weeknd’s “High for This” is one that I think fell under the radar for many a few years back so we wanted to bring it back to the light. Originally released only as a bonus track on the UK special edition of her album Halcyon, Ellie takes “High for This” to an entirely new level with her unique voice. This cover was produced by Xaphoon Jones, who we just realized is the “Bang” half of Chiddy Bang and who is known for laying out some of the best instrumental backings for vocalists.
Make sure you have your bass all the way up on this one. Trust us.
Zedd just released his new track “The Middle” this morning featuring Maren Morris and Grey. It’s evocative of “Stay” as it carries many of the same vocal styles and a minimal instrumental chorus opening. He seems to be taking his time to learn from fellow German Hans Zimmer on how to effectively use a clock ticking sound to add a sense of pace to his tracks (yes, that time pun was 100% intentional) as he’s included this in both “Stay” and now “The Middle”. There’s no doubt this song will be a hit so enjoy it now before it gets overplayed on the radio.
Here’s what Zedd, Maren, and Grey all had to say about this new release:
We worked really hard on this record to get it just right and it feels great to be able to finally share it with everyone. It was super fun working with Maren because she is clearly an amazing singer and very talented musician. And, I always love working with Grey because we push ourselves to make the best music possible and the end result is incredible. – Zedd
I met Zedd in Nashville several weeks ago when he came to town to record my vocal for “The Middle”. My fans know that my sounds is reflective of my many influences as a songwriter and artist and I think they’ll be ecstatic to hear this collaboration with him and Grey! – Maren Morris
Some songs come really quickly and naturally, but for a while there it seemed like this song didn’t want to come out. We ran into obstacle after obstacle, but we kept fighting for it because we knew this song was special. This is also our first time working with a country singer, and the different styles ended up fitting perfectly! SO glad that we can finally share this one with you, so enjoy! – Grey
