Track of the Day: C. H. I. C. – Andy Duigid

Track of the Day: C. H. I. C. – Andy Duigid

I’m going to let the lyrics speak for themselves…

“A feeling we may never truly achieve or understand. Always yearning for something that may not really exist. Something you can’t see, you can’t feel, but when you find it, you will know what it is to truly feel complete. In this ever changing world, we are the ones who must adapt. Like cogs in a continuous wheel within our own lives, all with our own individual traits and identities which make us all unique. We are hybrids. Together we are strong. We are the keys, the strings, the voices in our own heads. But only by our actions can we really change. And it’s only by these actions that we can be defined as truly being instrumental. So take a moment, reflect on every move, every decision, and when you realize that calming sensation, even through the hurt and the pain and the fact that it can all be taken away in the blink of an eye; that is the moment you realize you’re in control.”

Track of the Day: Bad at Love (Dillon Francis Remix) – Halsey

Track of the Day: Bad at Love (Dillon Francis Remix) – Halsey

Halsey’s vocals are always perfect for remixing and Dillon Francis’s spin on “Bad at Love” helps to showcase that. Going back to an original sound of his, he takes this track really enjoyable to listen to (not that the original wasn’t, but you know what I mean).

I recently watched Dillon on the YouTube series “Hot Ones” (which is a really good series you should check out if you’re looking to see celebrities in a bit of a different setting) and he made the point that producers like himself get criticized for not producing new, genre-moving tracks. If they put out something new, the general reaction is “Oh this is fine but I liked the old Dillon better” and when they put out tracks that align with their old style the reaction is “Oh this is fine but it’s the same as what he’s done before”. This tracks is a blend of both as he takes newer elements and blends them with his older styles.

Track of the Day: Creatures of the Night (Madison Mars Remix) – Hardwell

Track of the Day: Creatures of the Night (Madison Mars Remix) – Hardwell

Madison Mars consistently puts out only high quality tunes and remixes. He just never misses. This remix of Hardwell’s original Creatures of the Night is the type of remix that could get someone who isn’t interested in electronic music to appreciate it and want more. The wobble slowdown is such a fun move and he uses it to perfection to build and release tension throughout the song.

Bonus Madison Mars track: A bit different from his Hardwell remix, this Madison Mars original is a more traditional electronic song but shows his true skill as a producer. I can’t wait until I hear this dropped live at a show because it will definitely get the crowd going. If you’re into EDM, definitely check this one out.
