One Battle Scene in Game of Thrones Season 8 Took 55 Nights To Film

Per Watchers on the Wall, there will be a battle scene in the upcoming final season of Game of Thrones that took 55 consecutive nights to film. Yes. That is awesome. There are some spoilers as to the location where this battle will take place, but we’re going to leave those out. If you really want to know, you can find out here.

Both the Battle of the Bastards and the Loot Train ambush took roughly a month each to film, putting this battle scene at nearly twice the length. That helps to put into perspective how huge this battle scene will be. Both of those scenes pushed the limits of what has been done before, and it looks like this scene in season 8 will blow both of those out of the water in length, elaboration, or both.

Assistant director Jonathan Quinlan shared the below image on Instagram and later deleted it.

The fun part? You still have to wait until 2019 to see it. Check out the 20-somethinglife guide to other shows you can watch while you wait for Game of Thrones to return.
