Song of the Day: Silence (Slushii Remix) – Marshmello ft Khalid

You might be sick of this song by now with it’s extensive radio play. The original seemed to lack a certain energy and to me, came across as flat from verse to chorus. Slushii fixed that with his remix, adding a deeper and darker intro and verse with energetic synths. I doubt you’ll go back to listening to the original after listening to this remix.

It’s interesting to see how Marshmello’s sound has changed. This remix is the type of sound I would have expected to hear on the original from him but he kept it low key. His other new-ish track, “Wolves” with Selena Gomez, has a similar minimal energy vibe to it as compared to most of his previous work. It’s not a bad thing that his sound and style is changing, but it will surely make some fans say “I miss the old Marshmello!”.
