Seven Lions, Wooli, & Amidy teamed up for their new melodic dubstep track “Shadows”. Starting off slow with melancholy vocals, it quickly evolves into Seven Lions signature style with the inevitable heavy drop a la Wooli. The pacing of the kicks at the start of the chorus draws out the synth line beautifully and the trilling sound during the breakdown seals things in perfectly. William Black isn’t a well-known DJ/producer (yet), but his emotional, heartfelt style, similar to Illenium and Dabin, is becoming more and more popular. Originally out of Orange County, California, he’ll be with Illenium on tour through the end of 2019.

“Drown the Sky” speaks to the struggles of addiction, as this is something that both he and vocalist RØRY have had to deal with in the past. He explains, “Right before I got sober, I had this moment where I finally realized that I couldn’t go on with all the pain I was causing to myself, and more importantly, those who cared for me. In that moment I finally wanted to change. RØRY had recently gotten sober and we connected having been through such a similar experience despite our different backgrounds. The hope is that ‘Drown The Sky’ helps others to know they’re not alone and that there is a way forward.”
