Song of the Day: Satisfied (feat. Max) – Galantis

Song of the Day: Satisfied (feat. Max) – Galantis

The Swedish duo Galantis has an amazing ability to create dance songs that make people, well, want to dance. The EDM genre has diversified greatly over the last decade into more sub-genres than there are breeds of dogs. Galantis, however, sells out shows because they make music that is so infectious everyone starts dancing to it even if they’re more of a bass-head or trance fan. “Satisfied” featuring vocals from MAX, is peak Galantis when it comes to that irresistible groove that lifts everyone up.

So, check it out and let “Satisfied” put a little Shiba Inu (and you thought we wouldn’t be able to work in another dog breed reference).

Song of the Day: Glimmer (William Black Remix) – LIONE

Song of the Day: Glimmer (William Black Remix) – LIONE

Hailing from Orange County, William Black is recently really trying to hit his stride. In this remix of “Glimmer” by Lione, he adds a melodic plucky synth that matches perfectly with a more minimal style percussive sound. It’s a melancholy song, but he manages to make it a bit brighter and fun.

In his own words:

I had a really fun time with this remix, Once I heard the vocals I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. Huge thanks to LIONE for asking me to do it.

He has a few other great songs out at the moment so we’re sure we’ll see his name popping up more and more.

Song of the Day: Gold (Stupid Love) – Illenium & Excision

Song of the Day: Gold (Stupid Love) – Illenium & Excision

The new Illenium and Excision collaboration just dropped this morning and it is some of what the best the two artists have to offer. Featuring vocals from Shallows, “Gold (Stupid Love)” starts with a dark guitar riff, typical of Illenium. Moving into the melodic dubstep sounds that both Illenium and Excision are known for, the song explodes in depth and power. In songs like this, the vocals are generally meant to accentuate the melody and drums, and that’s what we have here. The secondary drop seems to have more of an Excision influence with how gritty it is. It’s incredibly fun to hear these two artists play off of each other’s strengths so well. The hype around this song’s release was clearly justified.

For more Illenium, check out “Fractures” and “Lost”.

Song of the Day: Butterflies – Myon

Song of the Day: Butterflies – Myon

“Butterflies”, Myon’s newest release featuring vocals from Jenn Blosil, is typical of his sound; uplifting, bright, and emotional. Myon usually teams up with partner Shane 54 to form Myon & Shane 54 (creative team name right?) and they have put out countless, beautiful progressive house tracks over the years. Separately though, they are just as talented as shown by Myon’s work in “Butterflies”. Enjoy this one!

Song of the Day: Oh Devil – Electric Guest

Song of the Day: Oh Devil – Electric Guest

This 2017 release from Electric Guest has a funky vibe, but it isn’t overpowered with funk with its pre-chorus breakdowns keeping things laid back. Check out the music video below featuring a hilarious Will Forte cameo at the end.

Oh devil, I know you’re afraid
Sometimes it’s hard to learn from all your mistakes
Oh devil, I’m glad that you came
Guess I should learn how to live because it won’t go away

Someone’s calling for me
Something’s calling for me again

Devil is back again
Oh I know the devil is back again
The devil is back again
So I know I’ll never look back again

Oh devil, I’m back for awhile
Till I pick up the phone, look for your number and dial
Oh devil, I made my own hell
And deep inside I’m sure I got here all by myself

Someone’s calling for me
Something’s calling for me again

Devil is back again
Oh I know the devil is back again
The devil is back again
So I know I’ll never look back again

Oh I know, same old thing, same old show
Oh I know, same old thing, so show control
