Song of the Day: Tie Me Down (ft. Ellie Duhe) – Gryffin

Song of the Day: Tie Me Down (ft. Ellie Duhe) – Gryffin

What stands out the most about Gryffin’s productions are that they share many elements in terms of structure and design with other artists you’re familiar with, yet he always manages to make the songs uniquely his own. “Tie Me Down” is no different. With a serene vocal performance from Ellie Duhe and smooth guitar rifts (a Gryffin staple), this song is expressive and emotive, yet also surprisingly relaxing. Feel free to put this one on repeat.

Song of the Day: Take You Down – Illenium

Song of the Day: Take You Down – Illenium

Illenium has been putting out new tracks consistently over the summer and recently debuted “Take You Down” at a festival just a few weeks ago with its official release today. This song is very personal to him as he wrote it about his previous heroin overdose and the impact that his addiction had on his family, in particular, his mother. He put out this statement with the track:

The most interesting part of this song is that the vocals are actually from his friend Tim James, pitched up making them sound like a woman’s voice.

Take You Down Lyrics:

I didn’t mean to hurt you when I hurt myself
It’s just an empty voice screaming out for help
No, I didn’t mean to scare you
But I couldn’t see
That when I went to hell I was taking you with me

When I close my eyes
I’m climbing in the dark
Trying not to fall apart
Sometimes I get so high
Falling is the only out I see
And I don’t wanna take you down with me

Yeah I’m loving my out
And you’re loving my out
Take you down
Take you down with me
(Down with me, down)
(Down with me, down)
(Take you) down with me

Down, you’re down with me
Down, you’re down with me

(Yeah I’m loving my out)
(And you’re loving my out)
(Take you down)

This life is like a razor
When it cuts I bleed
But it’s in my hand
And I’m doing it to me
Sometimes it’s like an ocean
And it gets too deep
And there’s no way that now you could rescue me

When I close my eyes
I’m fighting in the dark
Trying not to break your heart
Sometimes I get so high
Falling is the only out I see
And I don’t wanna take you down with me

You need to let it go now
Before you drown
I know that you won’t understand
But you need to let go of these hands
‘Cause I’m going down
And I don’t wanna take you down with me

And I don’t wanna take you down with me
Take you down, down with me

Song of the Day: High Enough – Justin Caruso

Song of the Day: High Enough – Justin Caruso

Justin Caruso is best known for his remixes of top artists but has recently been putting out more and more of his original music, further showcasing his talent. “High Enough”, featuring vocals from the Canton, MA native Rosie Darling, speaks to a relationship that just doesn’t seem to quite work, a feeling that most of us can surely relate to. With melody driven synths in the chorus and an incredible performance from Rosie in the verses creates a perfect example of Justin Caruso’s EDM style.

Song of the Day: Satisfied (feat. Max) – Galantis

Song of the Day: Satisfied (feat. Max) – Galantis

The Swedish duo Galantis has an amazing ability to create dance songs that make people, well, want to dance. The EDM genre has diversified greatly over the last decade into more sub-genres than there are breeds of dogs. Galantis, however, sells out shows because they make music that is so infectious everyone starts dancing to it even if they’re more of a bass-head or trance fan. “Satisfied” featuring vocals from MAX, is peak Galantis when it comes to that irresistible groove that lifts everyone up.

So, check it out and let “Satisfied” put a little Shiba Inu (and you thought we wouldn’t be able to work in another dog breed reference).
