Song of the Day: Wild and Broken (feat. RBBTS) – Seven Lions, Trivecta, Blanke

For the first time Seven Lions, Trivecta, and Blanke came together to collaborate on a track and the result is “Wild and Broken” a melodic dubstep track that has a borderline folk feel to it. Featuring vocals from RBBTS, “Wild and Broken” is more approachable and radio friendly than Seven Lions’ last release “Shadows”, with the exception of a signature breakdown section in the middle that will keep headbangers happy. Overall it’s a solid track that all three artists will surely include in their festival sets this summer. Check it out! Lyrics below.

Wild and Broken Lyrics

Into the night
Over the ocean
Scars turn to light
Into the open
We walked the line
I guess we were lost then
Before you and I found home

We are the wild, wild and the broken
It’s you and I and thousands more of them
We’re giants and mice, fire and ice, diamonds still crack sometimes
We are the wild, wild and the broken

We are the wild

We are the wild, wild and the broken
It’s you and I and thousands more of them
We’re giants and mice, fire and ice, diamonds still crack sometimes
We are the wild, wild and the broken

We are the wild

A new hope in sight
Behind the ocean
Sparks turned to light
Bodies in motion
We walked the line
Guess we were lost then
Before you and I found home

We’re giants and mice, fire and ice, diamonds still crack sometimes
We are the wild, wild and the broken

We are the wild

We are the wild

We are the wild

Song of the Day: Horizon – Seven Lions, Tritonal & Kill The Noise

Song of the Day: Horizon – Seven Lions, Tritonal & Kill The Noise

“Horizon”, a collaboration between Seven Lions, Tritonal, and Kill The Noise has been released and it is quite the interesting track. Listening through, it’s easy to pick out which act influenced each particular section. For example, the minimalistic breakdown after the first chorus seems to be where Kill The Noise put his stamp on the track as that’s neither a Seven Lions or Tritonal type sound. There seems to be less of a Tritonal influence on this song, given its melodic bass pace that is more true to Seven Lions, but we’re sure Tritonal made their impact melodically and with how the vocals by HALIENE are worked in. Take a listen!

Song of the Day: Ocean – Seven Lions

Song of the Day: Ocean – Seven Lions

One of the most popular unreleased songs from Seven Lions‘ live sets, “Ocean”, is out now. The collaboration with Jason Ross, featuring vocals from Jonathan Mendelsohn, is exactly the euphoric melodic bass style we’ve come to expect and love from Seven Lions. This is the second release on the Ophelia Records label which Seven Lions founded by himself, following “Calling You Home”. “Ocean” was released alongside “The Sirens”, which is also included below.

These two tracks drastically contrast with each other while at the same time displaying the range of talents of both artists. “The Sirens” is inherently darker and more aggressive, featuring driving percussion at a higher tempo with a significant lack of melodic movement, as compared to the beautifully lyrical and moving “Ocean”.

Lyrics:

Here I’ll stay, waiting for the tide to turn
And sail away, all these breaking waves of hurt
I’ll try to leave behind this savage world
Maybe someday I’ll return
Patiently, you wait for me on the shore
Thinking time is all I need to give you more
But guarantees, I can’t give you no
‘Cause I’m a shipwreck sinking slowly

And promises they break
And I’m through making mistakes
Well, love’s done nothing but cut me up
And carry me away

So now I hide my heart
It’s buried somewhere deep at the bottom of the ocean
‘Cause I’ve been torn apart
And what I thought was love nearly left me broken
So now I hide my heart
Far beneath the waves at the bottom of the ocean
If only I could get to you
What’s swimming beneath the blue of this ocean

And promises they break
And I’m through making mistakes
Well, love’s done nothing but cut me up
And carry me away

So now I hide my heart
It’s buried somewhere deep at the bottom of the ocean
‘Cause I’ve been torn apart
And what I thought was love nearly left me broken
So now I hide my heart
Far beneath the waves at the bottom of the ocean
If only I could get to you
What’s swimming beneath the blue of this ocean

At the bottom of this ocean
