Song of the Day (New Release): The Middle – Zedd

Zedd just released his new track “The Middle” this morning featuring Maren Morris and Grey. It’s evocative of “Stay” as it carries many of the same vocal styles and a minimal instrumental chorus opening. He seems to be taking his time to learn from fellow German Hans Zimmer on how to effectively use a clock ticking sound to add a sense of pace to his tracks (yes, that time pun was 100% intentional) as he’s included this in both “Stay” and now “The Middle”. There’s no doubt this song will be a hit so enjoy it now before it gets overplayed on the radio.

We worked really hard on this record to get it just right and it feels great to be able to finally share it with everyone. Some songs come really quickly and naturally, but for a while there it seemed like this song didn’t want to come out. We ran into obstacle after obstacle, but we kept fighting for it because we knew this song was special. This is also our first time working with a country singer, and the different styles ended up fitting perfectly! SO glad that we can finally share this one with you, so enjoy! – Grey
